arm and leg mapping of bugs in the garden

thursday 9th april

This intervention started with a mapping of an ant’s journey that walked onto my hand. I happened to have a pen in hand at the time, how convenient.

I was interested in how I notated the unfolding journey and how I could use my body as a medium for spatialising this interaction.

I then went on to do did a 1 hour intervention in the garden, marking when bugs would land or walk onto my leg and their movements around the leg. This 1 hour process was significant in cultivating a patient method and attentiveness to my surroundings, where I was completely unknowing and highly reactive to the outcome of the intervention. I consider this to be another developing method of a collaborative practice, this time between me and the bugs of my domestic situation.
